The joint Swing Bridge project has been delayed by the CHB District Council until at least its financial year 2026/27.

The project with the Council would have put back the bridge for walkers and cyclists, restoring the loop trail and access to Waipawa. It would also allow the Council to begin stage 1 of its project to provided a structure for the carriage of wastewater.

In the meantime the Rotary River Pathways Trust will review its options.
